1.   1985-1988: Membro della Commissione del CNR (Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche) per lo studio preliminare relativo al Progetto Finalizzato “Materiali per l’Ingegneria Civile” (Coordinatore della Commissione: Prof. Elio Giangreco, Universitą di Napoli).

2.   1994-1997: Coordinatore del Numerical Methods Group relativamente al Progetto di Ricerca COPERNICUS “Influence of local stress and strain concentrators on the reliability and safety of structures”, finanziato dalla Comunitą Europea.

-- 2003-2004: Programma Nazionale di ricerche in Antartide (Ministero dell’Istruzione, dell’Universitą e della Ricerca), sul tema “Comportamento a frattura e fatica di elementi strutturali metallici soggetti a carichi ripetuti in condizioni di bassa temperatura”.

     2003-2004:  National Research Grant for Antarctica, “Fracture and fatigue behavior of metallic structural components under cyclic loads at low temperature”, Italian Ministry for University and Technological and Scientific Research (MIUR), Antarctica 2003-2004.

-- 2004-2005: COFIN-PRIN Programma di ricerca scientifica di rilevante interesse nazionale (Ministero dell’Istruzione, dell’ Universitą e della Ricerca): cofinanziamento (DM n. 30 del 12 febbraio 2004) sul tema “Metodi di previsione della resistenza a fatica di componenti strutturali intagliati soggetti a stati tensionali multiassiali”.

  1. Incaricato dall’Amministrazione Comunale del Comune di San Giorgio di Piano (Bologna) per lo svolgimento di una “Indagine conoscitiva sulla struttura delle aziende e la consistenza dei fabbricati esistenti nelle zone rurali del Comune”; 1978.

  2. Consulente della Regione Emilia-Romagna, conseguentemente alla stipulazione della “Convenzione fra le Regioni Basilicata (Dipartimento Assetto del Territorio) ed Emilia-Romagna (III Dipartimento: Ambiente-Territorio-Trasporti) e l’Universita' di Bologna, per la definizione di Istruzioni concernenti le tecniche di intervento in aree sismiche con precise indicazioni per il ripristino ed il rafforzamento di strutture in conglomerato cementizio armato”; 1981-1982.

  3. Consulente della Regione Emilia-Romagna, conseguentemente alla Delibera della Giunta Regionale “Conferimento di incarichi di consulenza inerenti istruzioni ed unificazione di metodi per il controllo e l’istruttoria tecnica di progetti edilizi esecutivi nelle zone sismiche dell’Emilia- Romagna”; 1984.

  4. Partecipazione in qualita' di consulente al Corso “Vulnerabilita' '84: prevenzione e pronto intervento in area sismica”, organizzato dalla Regione Emilia-Romagna (III Dipartimento: Ambiente-Territorio-Trasporti) e dal Gruppo Nazionale per la Difesa dai Terremoti (del Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche); Forli', ottobre 1984.

  5. Partecipazione, in qualita' di esperto nel settore “Controllo staticita' immobili”, alla Missione in Messico in occasione del terremoto dell’autunno 1985, per conto del Ministero degli Affari Esteri; settembre 1985.
